People are using guns to kill, injure and traumatize New Mexico's children and families, with costly consequences for entire communities. Gun violence is a particularly acute problem for children in New Mexico. This Lecture will focus on gun violence in New Mexico as a public health epidemic.

Mary McGinnis has been living, writing, working and laughing in New Mexico since 1972.  Her published books include Private Stories on Demand, October Again, and her first full-length collection, Listening for Cactus, published by Sherman Asher Publishing in 1996.

Merle Lefkoff (Founder and CEO) spent decades as an international mediator in the Middle East, Northern Ireland, Bosnia, and Central and Eastern Europe. She received a research grant to study Complex Adaptive Systems, also called Complexity Science, and its application to global peace building. She was appointed Guest Scientist and Affiliate at the Center for Non-Linear Studies at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where she explored the natural laws that govern collective human behavior.
